SS10 Showcase

Press Day Time!! Opening night of our SS10 showcase for Woolrich Woolen Mills all went according to plan... after a stressful week of preparation. Guests sipped on champagne and munched on some very yummy sushi and were free to browse the collection. We also featured an exhibition on Woolrich History with some vintage items supplied courtesy of Beyond Retro. Check out the photos below...

Bow Tie Madness

It hasn't gone unnoticed that the only accessory worth sporting in menswear at the moment is the quintessential bow tie. Once reserved only for the dinner suit and special occasions, it is having somewhat of an urban revival of late with new styles emerging in prints, checks and tartans and designers teaming the traditional item up with the more casual attire of chinos and softly tailored blazers.

With Celebs, both male and female, in Britain and across the pond, sporting the latest trend it was only a matter of time before it took off. It started with a picture of our very own Doctor Who - Matt Smith - looking  particularly English Gentleman in a tweed blazer complete with elbow patches and traditional wool bow tie. Never one to take the traditional route when it comes to fashion, Kanye West styles up his dicky bow with a distinctly suave urban get up and our prize for best dressed schoolboy goes to Gossip Girl's painfully stylish Chuck Bass - showing how the preppy Manhattan look is really done. Even the girls are in on the act with Dolce and Gabbana's androgynous trousers suits.

Personally we lean towards the traditional heritage looks and where better to get a hold of the ultimate accessory in quality fabric and retro plaid patterns than the Autumn/Winter collection at Woolrich Woolen Mills. In both a red and black and green and black colour-way these bow ties are the perfect addition to any stylish wardrobe. Hey while you are at it, you can even pick up a cord blazer from the collection and capture the heritage look perfectly.

Style Spotter

After my last post I do feel the need to point out that our London Fashion Week adventures are not purely about gatecrashing hip events, abusing the free bar and loading up on freebies... we are of course there in a professional capacity.... ahem.... and did do some work!

So here are the results of our 'work' - our style eye hunted out all the trendiest party goers...

and the best dressed goes to...

our lovely DJ dollies

Loving the clashing prints...

so effortlessly cute- we love this!

a little bit of a poser but the yellow jean, blue check combo got us back on board

the perfect example of how to keep the menswear trend feminine...

has he come straight from an Oktoberfest party?

so simple yet incredibly stylish

a model surely... they have a knack to make casual denim look super cool - unfair

Classic black and white with polka dot twist - LOVE IT!

London Fashion Week Shenanigans!

Shamelessly blagging our way into places we are definitely not cool enough to be seen in this week has led to some messy nights and a permanent state of hangover... But it has certainly been a LFW to remember...

Here are the highlights from our shenanigans at last night's Paul Smith for Evian Party....

Personal unforgettable moments include:
  • stalking that guy from JLS (not Astin or Marvin but the other less good looking one that no-one can remember the name of?)
  • attempting to 'steal' a  designer  evian bottle only to find out they are actually freebies in the goody bag- doh!
  • cornering a rather scared photographer until he agreed to take our (very drunk and most likely terrible) photo and then reminding ourselves to pick up a London Lite- sure that we would definitely be in it...
Oh the life of fashion...

 here's the pics...

The Team!

Thought we would introduce ourselves in the only way we know how... crazy photographs of us looking utterly professional and impeccably turned out as always.... Ha!

In case you are wondering- we hit the Big Issue/ Rankin Live  Party on Thursday night and this is the result of discovering an old school photo booth after one too many free beverages.... genius - I think you will agree?
